UX/UI Design Process
How might we?
When starting a UX/UI project, I like to follow a Design Thinking Process that combines creativity and empathy to solve a user-centered problem. The outcome is to discover and ideate a solution and to then transform that solution into a working prototype ready for user testing which will give us a better understanding of the users needs, validate the user flows, and guide future work.
The methodology
I use the Design Sprint method to help create solutions through prototyping and user testing. The sprint is divided into six steps to reach clearly defined goals and deliverables and to gain critical learnings.
Step 1: Research & Understand
Research is done to learn about the problem and to help understand the possible solutions.
Step 2: Sketch & Wireframe
Insights are gathered, and different ways of solving the pain points as an opportunity are explored.
Step 3: Decide & Design
The ideas are evaluated and the best ones are chosen to be prototyped first. The Design Language System to follow is also decided.
Step 4: Prototype
The idea is then prototyped. A prototype is a low-cost and fast way to experiment and validate ideas envisioned in the sketch phase.
Step 5: Test & Validate
User testing and finally seeing live users interacting with the prototyped ideas, as well as hearing direct feedback and validating the solution.
Step 6: Hand-off to development & Recap
The prototype is then handed-off the to the developers.

It is very important to review the findings of the project and absorb the learnings. This will make future projects run even smoother.
